Talent Bank National Campaign for Subud USA

This week Susannah Rosenthal will be presenting the idea of the Talent Bank at the National Gathering being held in Smokey Mountains, Cullowhee North Carolina. She will also be running a workshop on fundraising for Subud. This is a key issue that is often ignored at Subud gatherings.

Its no secret that Subud at all levels is often short of the funds at all levels of the organization. Local group donations often just cover their own center’s expenses and there is little left to donate to the regional, national and international committees. This also impacts the wings Susila Dharma, SICA, SES and Subud Youth. Something needs to change, if we continue on this path Subud is in danger of fading away quietly.

Talent Bank is an idea to address this short fall in funding. Members donate their time and the Talent Bank finds people who are willing to pay for the service. It is a win-win-win situation. The talent donors get to support the organization, use their "true talent", make new contacts and grow their business. The buyer of the service also gets to support Subud and they receive a service they need (often at a reduced rate). Subud gets a great new influx of funds that will help the organization grow and thrive. And through all of this we are building the Subud community; members are interacting in new ways and making new connections.

One of Susannah's goals this week is to get a commitment to fund the development of the Talent Bank. A system is needed to register participants and manage the matching of talent to customer. Also, some effort needs to go into managing the whole system.

If we are able to tackle this one issue, Subud can grow going from strength to strength and we will start attracting new members again.
